Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa set Paris ablaze with their sizzling chemistry as they featured in a stunning photoshoot. The couple donned various stylish outfits and posed against the iconic backdrop of the City of Love.

Tsitsipas and Badosa began dating each other during the European Clay swing last year. It all started when the Greek sent a congratulatory message to the Spaniard after she won her second-round match at the Italian Open.

While their relationship has had its share of challenges, they are now happily together. They recently sat down for a chat with Spanish outlet Hola, which also featured an adorable photoshoot.

The couple recalled the story of how they met during the interview. Tsitsipas recalled watching Badosa play at the Rod Laver Arena during the 2020 Australian Open and declaring to himself that he would one day be with her.

“I would say the first time I noticed Paula was when I saw her at the 2020 Australian Open, playing on Centre Court. It was love at first sight and I was completely mesmerized from that day on. I remember thinking to myself that one day we would be together,” Tsitsipas said.

In contrast, Badosa, who at the time, has endured a severe back injury, shared how Tsitsipas brought much-needed positivity into her life during that challenging period. She expressed gratitude for meeting him during such a difficult time in her career.

“I met Stef just after I got injured. It was one of the hardest seasons for me, because I had never gone so many months without playing tennis, and he gave me the happiness, support and fresh air that I so needed at that time. The truth is that I felt very lucky that some light came into my life at such a dark time,” she said.

While discussing a non-sporting thing he loved about Paula Badosa, Stefanos Tsitsipas said he admired the Spaniard’s fighting spirit, a quality he found the most desirable. The Greek mentioned how she reminded him of his mother, playfully questioning whether that was a good thing or not.

“She has had to face fear all her life. And women who are fighters are the most attractive to me and the ones I admire the most. She reminds me a little of my mother in some ways. I don’t know if that’s good or bad (laughs), but I have a very comfortable feeling with Paula when I’m around her,” Tsitsipas said.

Tsitsipas affectionately referred to Badosa as “my person,” believing they were destined to be together as even the fights couldn’t keep them apart. He used the word ‘brave’ to describe his girlfriend and felt fortunate to have her in his life.

“I feel extremely connected to her and I feel like she’s my person. I guess that means that we are made for each other and that we have that kind of connection that brings us closer even in conflict and tension. Every day that I wake up I feel very lucky that she is part of my life and if I have to define her with one word, that would be ‘brave’.”

On the tennis side of things, Tsitsipas is currently competing at the final Masters 1000 event of the year, the Paris Masters. The Greek won his opening two rounds against Roberto Caraballes Baena and Alejandro Tabilo, respectively. He will face Francisco Cerundolo next.

Badosa, on the other hand, had to bring her season to an unfortunate end, citing health concerns. She retired from her semifinal match against Daria Kasatkina at the Ningo Open following which she made the aforementioned news. However, Badosa joined Tsitsipas in Paris where they went out for a coffee date.
