“Classless lowlife who had no parenting nor education” – Fans slam Nick Kyrgios after he calls Boris Becker ‘criminal’ over Jannik Sinner comments
Nick Kyrgios Faces Backlash for Calling Boris Becker a “Criminal”
Tennis fans have criticized Nick Kyrgios after he referred to Boris Becker as a “criminal.” The Australian’s remark came after Becker mocked his outspoken stance on Jannik Sinner’s doping case.
Kyrgios vs. Becker: The Exchange
Sinner tested positive for clostebol twice during the 2024 Indian Wells Masters, but an investigation by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) cleared him of any Anti-Doping Rule Violations. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) initially sought a one to two-year ban but later settled on a three-month suspension after reviewing Sinner’s explanation.
Since the revelation of Sinner’s positive test, Kyrgios has continuously criticized the World No.1, frequently taking to social media to voice his disapproval.
A tennis fan account on X (formerly Twitter) recently mocked Kyrgios’ persistence on the matter, sharing a meme implying that even in old age, he would still be discussing Sinner’s doping case.
Becker, who has publicly defended Sinner, reacted with a simple “Lol.”
However, Kyrgios didn’t take kindly to the former Grand Slam champion’s response and fired back with:
“What’s up criminal.”
The Australian was referencing Becker’s 2022 conviction, which saw him serve eight months in prison for concealing assets during a bankruptcy proceeding.
Tennis Fans Call Out Kyrgios
Kyrgios’ response sparked mixed reactions from tennis fans, with many criticizing him for the personal attack on Becker.
One fan called him a “classless lowlife”, questioning his upbringing:
“A classless lowlife who had no parenting nor education. That’s @NickKyrgios for you.”
Another fan accused him of being unable to take a joke:
“You are the biggest loser I’ve ever seen. You can’t take a joke at your expense. Judging by your massive ego, you’d think you’re the greatest athlete of all time. Yet, the only thing you’re famous for is acting like an absolute wnker on the court.”*
Other fans took personal digs at Kyrgios:
- “Didn’t you hit your girlfriend?”
- “The irony considering you’re a disgusting vile abuser who beats women.”
- “Are you referring to your CV?”
Kyrgios’ History of Clashing with Becker
This isn’t the first time Kyrgios has taken shots at Becker over the Sinner doping controversy.
Last year, Becker defended Sinner, urging people to read the full facts before making judgments:
“We should take time and read the facts!” – Boris Becker
A fan criticized Becker’s comments, prompting Kyrgios to bring up Becker’s past legal troubles again, responding:
“Don’t trust a criminal brother 😂.”
Kyrgios’ Criticism of Doping Cases Extends Beyond Sinner
Kyrgios has been outspoken on doping in tennis beyond Sinner’s case. Last year, he also criticized Iga Swiatek after she tested positive for trimetazidine, another banned substance.
As the Sinner doping debate continues, so too does Kyrgios’ vocal stance—but not without controversy.
