Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has made a shocking early Premier League prediction involving Arsenal and Manchester City
Former England striker Michael Owen has made a bold prediction ahead of the new Premier League season, suggesting that Arsenal could bring an end to Manchester City’s reign of dominance.
Owen believes that the reigning champions might not even finish in the top three, despite their impressive track record.
After narrowly defeating Arsenal to claim their fourth consecutive Premier League title last season, Manchester City will once again be the team to beat. Speaking to Casino Hawks, Owen said, “Arsenal and Manchester City will be in virtually everybody’s top four predictions, and I think Liverpool will probably be in there as well, despite some questions about how well Arne Slot will fit in. I considered Newcastle, but Aston Villa are solid and look to be still improving.”
Owen further speculated about Manchester City’s future, stating, “In terms of the order, my thought process is that if City are not going to win it, they could actually drop away a little bit. It’s almost like if City are not in the race after 10 games, their priority could shift elsewhere. I think there could be a big surprise this season. I’m going to go for Arsenal first, Liverpool second, Aston Villa third, and Manchester City fourth.”
