What England fans sang about Man City’s Jack Grealish after their 2-0 win against Republic of Ireland
Jack Grealish seemed ready to prove a point as he scored for England in their dominant 2-0 triumph against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday.
Declan Rice hailed Grealish, alongside the likes of John Stones and Harry Maguire amongst many other after he stepped up to the plate for Lee Carsley’s side.
The £300,000-a-week man’s presence in the side was one of the major narratives heading into the contest; considering he has played for the Republic of Ireland previously before switching allegiances.
However, Grealish did not seem to showcase that he was feeling the nerves playing in front of the Irish supporters.
The Manchester City attacker played his natural football and reminded observers once again that he tends to fare well in a Three Lions shirt.
In July, it was claimed that the England squad were shocked at Grealish’s exclusion from their Euro 2024 squad.

England fans sing Jack Grealish chant after beating Republic of Ireland
But the 28-year-old has returned to the fold and to ensure he remains in the squad, he put in a bright display — gliding with the ball between the lines and expertly combining with his teammates in somewhat of a free role.
The three-time Premier League winner might have earned himself a starting spot to face Finland in the UEFA Nations League next.
Grealish would have been hoping to make a positive impression on Lee Carsley, who recalled him to the national team.
So far, the former Aston Villa dribbler has repaid the Three Lions interim boss’ faith.
It seems like the England fans were delighted with Grealish’s display as well.
As the treble-winner clapped the supporters off, they were heard chanting via Manchester City on Instagram: “Super, super Jack! Super, super Jack! Super, super Jack! Super Jackie Grealish!”
Previously, both Aston Villa and Manchester City fans have also been heard singing the same chant about Grealish.
Jack Grealish looks like he is fine form
Against both West Ham United and the Republic of Ireland, Grealish has exhibited enough signs that he has started the 2024/2025 season in fine form.
The England international looks like he is playing with a purpose — taking intelligent decisions in the final third, creating chances and being a nuisance for the opposition defence as he blends a degree of risk and safety in his game.
After the international break, Grealish would be hoping to be in line for a start against Brentford.
However, the decorated attacker would be determined to shine against Finland as well so that he returns to the Etihad Stadium full of confidence.
So far, Grealish has shown signs of promise in his game and perhaps his early-season performances could potentially mean he has one of the best campaigns of his career.
At 28 years of age, the Englishman is in his prime and he has a chance to capitalise on potentially the best part of his career as a player.
