Manchester City have shown in the past that they aren’t against paying big transfer fees to sign players.

For example, City have shelled out big fees to secure deals for the likes of Jack Grealish, Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias among others in recent years.

Even though another summer transfer window has come and gone, some behind-the-scenes details have come to light regarding how much Pep Guardiola’s side may have to pay to sign another player they’ve had on their radar recently.

Bayern Munich set asking price for Jamal Musiala amid Man City interest

A recent report from Caught Offside has claimed that Bayern Munich have an asking price of €180 (£152m) to sell Jamal Musiala.

After The Guardian reported back in April that the midfielder was a top target for the Manchester club during the recent summer transfer window, it was claimed earlier this week that City hope a move for Musiala next summer would convince Guardiola to extend his stay at the Etihad.

Musiala would be a big investment for City

At the age of 21, Musiala has made 166 senior appearances for Bayern across all competitions, scoring 44 goals and providing 31 assists along the way.

With the midfielder’s contract at the club set to expire in the summer of 2026, Bayern president Herbert Hainer recently claimed that their aim is to keep hold of Musiala for as long as possible.

Taking that into account and this recent report claiming that it may take City having to stump up such a significant amount of cash to sign the youngster, it’s safe to say that this would be a big deal for the Blues to try and pull off.

Moving forward, if the Manchester club feel that an opportunity to sign Musiala is there, they should do all they can to negotiate a suitable deal with Bayern for him.
