Novak Djokovic seems to not particularly enjoy playing at tournaments in France, and it’s all due to the behavior of the fans. He pointed out the often-hostile atmosphere created by French spectators.
Details. Speaking about his experience at Roland-Garros, Djokovic acknowledged that French fans are full of energy but noted that this energy can quickly turn into unsportsmanlike behavior.
“You have to understand that you’re entering a big battle—not just with your opponent. I want to see fans cheering and chanting… that’s beautiful. But excessive noise or jeering crosses that line, and fans become disrespectful towards the player.”
Reminder. Despite the criticism and discontent regarding the behavior of French fans, Novak Djokovic has still performed quite successfully at French tournaments. The Serbian tennis player has won a record seven titles at the Paris Masters.
