Novak Djokovic certainly has a lot to improve upon if he wants to get back to winning ways in Grand Slams.
Andy Murray will coach Djokovic in a bid to do exactly that, with the Serbian failing to win a Grand Slam title in 2024.
Injuries and poor form played key roles in his struggles to get over the line, with a runner-up spot at Wimbledon his best finish.
Djokovic can return better in 2025, with that area perhaps one of many that he and Murray will work on in the off-season.
The Serbian is undoubtedly still hungry for success, with only Margaret Court standing in his way of the most outright Grand Slam titles.
Boris Becker says Novak Djokovic has confirmed ‘good news for tennis’
He has now shared that hunger, with Djokovic saying: “Physically and mentally I am ready to play my tennis again. I have a feeling that I can challenge [Jannik] Sinner, [Carlos] Alcaraz and [Alexander] Zverev. My experience can be useful. Next year I will play more tournaments and the Slams in particular will be my priority.”
And those words have delighted legendary figure Boris Becker, who commented simply on X: “Good news for tennis.”
Can Novak Djokovic challenge Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz?
While Zverev has impressed once more in recent times, it is the hugely talented duo of Sinner and Alcaraz who are the players to beat.
That was certainly the case in the latest season, and that is not likely to change in 2025 or indeed anytime soon.
Sinner dominated the scene with eight titles, with the world number one triumphing at the Australian Open and US Open.
| Player | Titles | Win-loss |
| Jannik Sinner | 8 | 73-6 |
| Carlos Alcaraz | 4 | 54-13 |
| Alexander Zverev | 2 | 69-21 |
| Novak Djokovic | 1 | 37-9 |
Alcaraz meanwhile, who ended the year as world number three, won four titles, including the French Open and Wimbledon.
Perhaps the only thing stopping them from further success in 2025 is each other, with Alcaraz currently winning their head-to-head battle 6-4.
