Novak Djokovic recently shared a light-hearted message for his new coach, Andy Murray, following his victory at the Brisbane International. After defeating Australian Rinky Hijikata with a 6-3, 6-3 win, Djokovic mentioned that Murray was on a family skiing trip. He humorously remarked, “I hope he doesn’t get injured skiing before he comes to Melbourne; that wouldn’t be great.”

Djokovic expressed enthusiasm about their new partnership, stating, “We spoke before the match, we’re communicating daily. I’m excited to have him in my team, in my corner. For 20+ years, he’s been across the net; for the first time ever, he’s on the same side of the court. It should be fun in Melbourne.”

This collaboration marks a significant shift, as the two have been long-time rivals on the court. Murray, who retired from professional tennis in August 2024, brings a fresh perspective to Djokovic’s game. Djokovic noted, “He has a unique perspective on my game as one of the greatest rivals that I’ve had. He knows the pros and cons of my game.”
