Coco Gauff has announced her New Year’s resolution to read more books in 2025, aiming to surpass the 16 novels she read in 2024 by setting a goal of 22. This commitment mirrors the literary passion of her Polish rival, Iga Świątek, who is known for her love of reading and has previously launched reading challenges for her fans.

Gauff’s resolution comes after a successful performance at the United Cup, where she, alongside Taylor Fritz, led Team USA to the quarterfinals following a victory over Donna Vekić. In an on-court interview, Gauff expressed her intention to increase her reading in the coming year, stating, “I’ma try to read more books. This year I read like 16 (books) or something like that so I’ma try to go for like 22, let’s go for that.”

Świątek, who describes herself as a “bookworm,” has previously engaged her followers in literary pursuits. At the start of the 2023 season, she initiated a 12-book challenge and encouraged fans to join her in reading, promoting the hashtag #ReadWithIga on World Book Day.

Both athletes have demonstrated that their interests extend beyond the tennis court, embracing reading as a means of personal growth and relaxation. Gauff’s new resolution not only reflects her admiration for Świątek’s off-court habits but also highlights a shared commitment to intellectual development alongside their athletic careers.
