German tennis star Alexander Zverev and his model girlfriend, Sophia Thomalla, are enjoying their time in Australia as Zverev gears up for the Australian Open. Sophia recently shared heartwarming photos and videos on Instagram, capturing moments from their trip, including an encounter with a quokka, a small marsupial related to the kangaroo.
The couple appeared to be making the most of their time in the sun, walking along the beach, taking a scenic helicopter ride over beautiful bays, and spending time with the friendly quokka, even trying to feed the adorable animal. Currently ranked No. 2 in the world, Zverev has won 23 titles throughout his career but is still chasing his first Grand Slam victory. He has come close twice, finishing as the runner-up at the 2020 US Open and the 2024 French Open. One of his most notable achievements is winning the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Reflecting on his past season, Zverev said, “It was a good year. I wouldn’t call it bad. I reached a Grand Slam final, but did I achieve my ultimate goal? No. So, it wasn’t a success.”
