Emma Raducanu has added the Singapore Tennis Open to her 2025 schedule. This WTA 250 event is set to take place from January 27 to February 2 at the Kallang Tennis Hub in Singapore, marking the return of top-level women’s tennis to the city-state since the WTA Finals were held there between 2014 and 2018.
Raducanu, who recently withdrew from the ASB Classic in Auckland due to a back injury, is expected to begin her season at the Australian Open starting on January 12. Following the Grand Slam, she plans to compete in Singapore alongside notable players such as 2020 Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin, world No. 14 Anna Kalinskaya, Elise Mertens, and Wang Xinyu.
The Singapore Tennis Open replaces the Thailand Open in Hua Hin on the WTA calendar. Raducanu’s participation indicates her intent to have a more active season following a limited schedule in 2024 due to injuries.
This will be Raducanu’s first competitive appearance in Singapore, although she previously trained at the Tanglin Club in 2022. Her addition to the tournament is anticipated to draw significant attention, given her status as a former US Open champion and her global fan base.
