Emma Raducanu has received sympathy from WTA Tour rival Wang Xinyu, who acknowledges the “difficult” challenge the British star faces due to intense pressure. Following Raducanu’s third-round exit at Wimbledon 2025 to Aryna Sabalenka on July 4, Xinyu, ranked No. 40, highlighted the unique burden Raducanu carries. She noted that Raducanu’s 2021 US Open win as a qualifier thrust her into the spotlight early, making every subsequent match a high-stakes test. “Yeah, she has won a Grand Slam, but there is a lot of pressure that is now on her every time she plays… It was never going to be easy after that,” Xinyu said, suggesting Raducanu’s youth and rapid rise amplify the scrutiny.

Xinyu, who reached the Berlin WTA 500 final and beat Coco Gauff recently, empathizes with Raducanu’s situation, advising her to distance herself from social media pressure. This comes as Raducanu, now ranked No. 45 after a ranking drop post-Wimbledon, prepares for the US Open. Her resilience was evident in pushing Sabalenka, but the loss and ongoing back issues underline the challenge Xinyu recognizes, offering a rare moment of solidarity among competitors.
