Jamie Murray, brother of retired tennis legend Andy Murray, has offered a candid and critical take on Emma Raducanu’s standing relative to Jack Draper following their Wimbledon 2025 performances. Speaking to *Mirror Sport* on July 18, 2025, Jamie acknowledged Raducanu’s third-round run, where she defeated 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova before losing to world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, as a “good result” given her unseeded status. However, he was unequivocal in asserting a significant gap between the 22-year-old and Draper, stating, “That’s miles away from being at the level that Jack is at.”

Murray emphasized Draper’s stronger position, noting his role as the men’s No. 4 seed and world No. 5, bolstered by a US Open semifinal and an Indian Wells title, despite his second-round exit to Marin Cilic. “Jack is in a completely different place in his career than where she is,” he said, highlighting Draper’s consistent results and world-class status. He contrasted this with Raducanu’s current No. 45 ranking, suggesting her 2021 US Open win, while remarkable, hasn’t translated into sustained success. “She obviously needs to win a lot more matches to be talked about as a contender for these tournaments,” he added, cautioning against overhyping her based on that early triumph.

While recognizing Raducanu’s competitive showing against Sabalenka, Murray predicted a bright future for Draper, saying, “He’ll be at the top of the game for 10 years,” positioning him as a challenger to stars like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. His blunt message underscores the differing trajectories of the two British talents, urging Raducanu to elevate her consistency to match Draper’s ascent.
