Luke Littler shared a humorous moment with a Liverpool fan as he powered into the last 16 of the Belgian Darts Open, cruising to a dominant 6–2 victory over Boris Krcmar in Wieze.

The teenage sensation, who posted a brilliant 104.7 average, revealed the light-hearted walk-on exchange after learning that Belgium’s national football team are nicknamed the Red Devils.

“I didn’t know that. There are a lot of Manchester United fans here,” Littler said. “I know there was one Liverpool fan on the walk-on. I said, ‘you got beat 2–1 today,’” he added, laughing off the friendly football rivalry.

Master of ceremonies Philip Brzezinski quickly steered things back to the darts and Littler’s next opponent, but the youngster has already shown a knack for stirring rivalries — even taking a cheeky swipe at Nottingham Forest fans during recent Premier League Darts events.

A venue that “just works”

Still early in his career, Littler is already building an impressive record in Belgium. Returning as a back-to-back champion, he is once again defending his title in front of a lively and supportive crowd.

“I love it here,” he said. “My first European Tour was here, and now I’m back to defend it. I want to go and win it again.

“Performances like that put me right up there, and coming off that win in Ireland, it’s set me up nicely. I can’t wait to go again tomorrow.”

While Littler has largely avoided playing in Germany following crowd issues last year, he continues to thrive in Belgium, where fans have been far more respectful — even while passionately backing their own players.

“It could have been a lot better”

Despite the convincing win over Krcmar, Littler remained self-critical and insisted there is still more to come.

“It could have been a lot better,” he admitted. “But as my first-round games go, it’s always gone to plan here, and yeah, we move on to tomorrow.”

His 104.7 average highlighted his dominance, although a slight dip in the penultimate leg prevented an even higher figure.

Next up: Zonneveld test

Littler will now face Niels Zonneveld on Sunday in Wieze — a player he has yet to meet on the big stage.

The Dutchman arrives in strong form, something Littler is well aware of.

“I always check the results, especially on the European Tour, and he’s been playing very well,” Littler said. “But I’m stood in his way, and I’ll definitely be on my A-game tomorrow.”

With confidence soaring and another big performance already under his belt, Littler heads into finals day once again looking like the man to beat in Belgium.
