Daryl Gurney provided a humorous moment on stage following his clash with Michael van Gerwen at the Belgian Darts Open.

The Northern Irishman was marking his birthday but joked that no presents had come his way — instead opting to have a playful dig at his opponent.

During the post-match interview, host Philip Brzezinski brought up the occasion while speaking to Van Gerwen, saying: “It was his birthday, there were no presents whatsoever though.”

Gurney quickly jumped in, turning to the Dutchman with a cheeky question: “What I will say — I’m so sorry — but what age are you?”

Van Gerwen replied bluntly: “36.”

That was all Gurney needed to deliver his punchline: “I’m four years older, but I look so much better — it’s unreal.”

Van Gerwen fired back immediately with a witty response of his own: “Come on, hurry up, you’ve got a flight to catch.”
