American darts player Danny Baggish has been provisionally suspended from competing after an investigation was launched into suspicious betting activity.

The 42-year-old was informed by the Darts Regulation Authority on May 2 that he would be barred from attending or playing in events while inquiries continue.

The investigation centres around allegations involving betting patterns linked to the number of 180s hit during matches featuring Baggish in the MODUS Super Series.

The MODUS circuit operates separately from the Professional Darts Corporation, although it regularly features high-profile players with experience on the world stage at Alexandra Palace.

Baggish, who is from Florida, is entitled to appeal against the provisional suspension.

In a statement, MODUS organisers said: “MODUS Super Series acknowledges today’s announcement by the Darts Regulation Authority regarding the suspension of Danny Baggish pending an investigation into an alleged breach of betting integrity regulations.

“We are cooperating fully with the DRA throughout its investigation.

“As is standard, we will not comment on the substance of an active regulatory matter.

“The integrity of the sport is fundamental to MODUS Super Series – as a tournament organiser, as a broadcaster, and as a partner to the wider darts ecosystem.

“We support the DRA in its role of safeguarding that integrity.

“No further comment will be issued until the DRA’s process is concluded.”

Baggish also addressed the allegations in a social media statement, writing: “I’ve obviously been battling this ongoing allegation. I won’t say anything just yet but I won’t lay down over assumption.

“That is all. I’m okay with the messages and questions. I have nothing to hide. Thank you.”

Known for walking on to The Gambler by Kenny Rogers, Baggish previously held a PDC Tour Card between 2021 and 2022 and played in three World Championships at Alexandra Palace.

He also represented the United States at the 2022 World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt.

Last year, Baggish suffered a devastating personal loss when his 19-month-old son died from cancer.

Only weeks ago, he paid tribute to his late child after winning on his debut appearance in the MODUS Super Series in Portsmouth.

The case comes after Andy Jenkins was found guilty in March 2025 of 24 match-fixing-related charges, including betting on darts matches.

Jenkins, who had also competed on the MODUS Super Series, received an 11-year ban from all DRA-regulated events and was ordered to pay more than £17,000 in costs.
