Ash Barty is ‘planning for baby number two’ as tennis ace addresses rumours of a career comeback

When contacted for comment, Barty shot down rumours she would be making a return to tennis or taking up her husband’s sport of choice, golf.

‘The answer is no to both,’ she told the publication.

In July, Barty took to social media to announce the birth of her first child with husband Garry Kissick.

The retired tennis champion, is said to want another child close in age to her firstborn so he has a sibling to grow up with

The following month, Barty opened up about the joys of being a mum, saying raising newborn son Hayden was rewarding in so many ways.

Ash sensationally quit the sport at the peak of her powers following her watershed Australian Open win in January 2022.

‘It’s the best, and hardest thing, I’ve ever done,’ Barty told News Corp.

‘Ash is bursting to have another bub. With Hayden’s birthday coming up, a surprise announcement could come at any moment,’ an insider told New Idea magazine. They added that Ash’s priorities quickly changed after she welcomed Hayden

‘Hayden is amazing, I feel so very lucky. Garry and I are really just enjoying what is a pretty quiet time together at home as a little family.’

Barty said the bond she had formed with Hayden was ‘incredible’.

‘Having seen my sisters become mums, and spending so much time with their kids, I had some idea of how it would feel, but it’s certainly at a different level when it’s your own child, and they are completely dependent on you! It’s pretty incredible,’ Barty said.

The tennis great has always been an early riser, and Barty confirmed that nothing has changed since the arrival of her son.
