Alex de Minaur on the Importance of Balance: Life with Katie Boulter On and Off the Court
Alex de Minaur has opened up about the positive impact his fiancée, Katie Boulter, has on both his personal life and professional career. The tennis power couple, who announced their engagement just before the 2025 season, have been together since 2020 and continue to inspire each other on and off the court.
Their engagement news was met with widespread congratulations from fellow ATP and WTA players, with Thanasi Kokkinakis humorously commenting that it was “about damn time.”
De Minaur: “We Try to Live as Normal a Life as Possible”
Despite the intense nature of life on the tour, de Minaur believes that keeping a sense of normalcy is key to maintaining a healthy relationship and career.
“It is important to try and go out for dinners, go out for coffees, try to make life as normal as you can, and enjoy the time with the people you have,” de Minaur shared with the ATP website.
For the World No. 8, spending time with friends, teammates, and fellow players helps him manage the high-pressure environment of professional tennis.
“Ultimately, the tennis side of things is always going to be intense and stressful, requiring a lot of focus. But as soon as you step off the court, you try to immerse yourself in the different cities, explore different activities, restaurants, coffees, and just live as much of a normal life as you can.”
A Career-Defining Season for Both De Minaur and Boulter
2024 proved to be a breakthrough year for both de Minaur and Boulter. The Australian star won two ATP titles, reached three Grand Slam quarterfinals, and broke into the top 10 for the first time in his career.
Meanwhile, Boulter also had a career-best season, securing two WTA titles and achieving a career-high ranking of No. 23.
As they continue to thrive in their careers, the couple’s commitment to supporting each other—both on and off the court—remains a key ingredient to their success.
