Alex de Minaur’s ATP Finals hopes: Australian needs big result in Paris Masters to qualify in Race to Turin
Alex de Minaur’s hopes of qualifying for the season-ending ATP Finals sit on a knife’s edge ahead of the Paris Masters.
In the ‘Race to Turin’, the top eight players for the calendar year qualify for the finals, which is being held in the famous Italian city from November 10-17.
After reaching the top 10 for the first time, De Minaur injured himself in the fourth round at Wimbledon and has struggled with his fitness ever since.
The Aussie is now battling to qualify for the ATP Finals for the first time.

De Minaur currently sits ninth in the ‘Race To Turin’ to qualify for the ATP Finals, with only the top eight qualifying.
His only hope of qualifying for the ATP Finals is to leapfrog over a player ahead of him in the ‘Race to Turin’ or for a qualified player to withdraw.
Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the Paris Masters, so there is a chance he could pull out of the ATP Finals.
As for getting into the top eight, De Minaur will have to reach a minimum of the quarter-finals and hope eighth-placed Andrey Rublev bombs out early.
A result better than the quarter-final for De Minaur will give him a better place.
If he wins the Paris Masters, he is guaranteed to leapfrog over Djokovic.
