Alexander Zverev has re-hired fitness coach Jez Green to enhance his physical conditioning in pursuit of his first Grand Slam title. Green, who previously worked with Zverev from 2013 to 2021 and has also trained Andy Murray, is expected to help improve Zverev’s endurance and overall fitness.
Zverev cited fatigue as a factor in key matches during the 2024 season, including his semifinal against Daniil Medvedev at the Australian Open and the final against Carlos Alcaraz at the French Open. By reuniting with Green, he aims to prevent such issues in the future.
In addition to this change, Zverev has expressed interest in potentially adding tennis legend Boris Becker to his coaching team. However, he intends to maintain his current coaching setup, led by his father, at least until after the Australian Open. Zverev has noted that logistical aspects of Becker’s travel need to be clarified before any collaboration can be considered.
These strategic adjustments reflect Zverev’s commitment to achieving his first Grand Slam victory. He is currently representing Germany at the 2025 United Cup in Australia, where he discussed these developments.
