Alexander Zverev Reveals what he is learning from his brother and needs to improve alot

At this week’s 2024 Nitto ATP Finals, Alexander Zverev played excellent tennis, and everyone predicted he would make it to the final. After defeating the four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz in what may have been his best match of the season, the German champion had won his group without dropping a single set.

Sascha had won his seventh Masters 1000 title in his career and was in excellent form. His victory at the Rolex Paris Masters had also given him more confidence. But in the semifinals against Taylor Fritz, his certainty was shattered.

Alexander’s 2024 performance and results are still very promising despite this unexpected setback. The world number two surpassed Carlitos Alcaraz in the ATP ranking with 69 victories over the year, including two Masters 1000 titles (Rome and Paris-Bercy). Sascha will be among the favourites at the Australian Open in 2025, but he regrettably missed the Turin final.

In addition, Zverev receives assistance from his brother Mischa, who focuses entirely on him globally and offers him a wealth of helpful advice on how to keep getting better in certain areas of the court.

Zverev recently talked about it and said: “I’m not playing like my brother yet. That’s why I’m not No. 1 in the world, but No. 2. I still have something to improve for next year. Hopefully I can do that.”

He added: “You have to ask him what he was trying to show me. I went to my dad to keep it more simple. He told me to step back on the second serve return, which was a great suggestion compared to my brother, who was throwing me 48 different sign languages and signs, which I didn’t understand a single one of, yeah.”
