Six months have passed since Sir Andy Murray retired from professional tennis, concluding his career at the Paris Olympics alongside doubles partner Dan Evans.
However, the former British No.1 has not been idle, staying remarkably active since stepping away from competition. In a surprising turn of events, Murray recently re-entered the tennis world as a coach, partnering with long-time rival Novak Djokovic for the Australian Open.
Despite Djokovic’s withdrawal from the semi-finals due to injury, Murray’s name has now been linked with another coaching opportunity—guiding fellow Brit Emma Raducanu, who recently parted ways with her coach.
Beyond tennis, Murray has been dedicating time to honing his golf skills, aiming for a scratch handicap. Last September, playing off a seven handicap, he debuted at the prestigious BMW PGA Championship’s Pro-Am in Wentworth and later won the inaugural BTJA Mike Dickson Golf Day at Hanbury Manor Golf Club.
Scottish golfer Robert MacIntyre, who played alongside Murray at Wentworth, was impressed, stating, “For someone who hasn’t played that much, I thought he was good. He’ll be scratch in no time.”
While golf has become a new passion, Murray has also embraced the opportunity to spend more time with his wife Kim and their four children—Sophia, Edie, Teddy, and Lola. This year, he and Kim, the daughter of tennis coach Nigel Sears, will celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary, having first met at a party during the 2005 US Open.
Kim was a constant presence in the stands during Murray’s career, providing steadfast support, particularly during his injury struggles. Reflecting on her support, Murray shared, “I don’t know if the children noticed, but my wife definitely did. It put a lot of strain on our relationship because I was down all the time. She has been brilliant.”
Andy Murray’s Luxury Hotel
After dating for nine years, Murray and Kim married in Dunblane, Scotland, hosting their reception at the stunning five-star Cromlix House hotel—a property they had purchased two years earlier for a reported £1.8 million. The hotel has strong family ties, having also hosted Jamie Murray’s wedding and anniversaries for their grandparents.
Set on 34 acres of private land, Cromlix boasts 10 bedrooms, five suites, a one-bedroom lodge, a private chapel, a tennis court, a pickleball court, and a restaurant run by an award-winning chef. Initially managed by a third party, the Murrays took over its operations in December 2022 and embarked on extensive renovations, transforming it into one of Scotland’s premier luxury venues, with room rates ranging from £350 to £950 per night.
Kim has played a pivotal role in shaping Cromlix’s transformation, leveraging her keen eye for design despite having no formal training. In an interview with Country Living, she revealed, “We’d finished having children and building our house, so it seemed the perfect time. Having little kids has been all-consuming, but renovating the hotel allowed me to step out of motherhood and create something different.”
Her efforts have been widely recognized, with Cromlix recently winning the AA Hotel of the Year award for Scotland. Murray proudly shared a photo of Kim with the trophy on social media, captioning it, “At least someone in the family can still win stuff. Congrats to my wife and all the team @cromlixhotel for winning the AA Hotel of the Year award for Scotland.”
Andy Murray’s Net Worth
Cromlix is just one of several properties in Murray’s portfolio. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the three-time Grand Slam winner has an estimated net worth of £85 million, though some sources suggest it could be closer to £100 million.
During his playing days, Murray earned nearly £52 million in prize money, supplemented by lucrative endorsement deals with brands like Jaguar, Castore, Under Armour, and Head, as well as partnerships with Amazon Prime Video, Standard Life, and American Express.
His real estate investments have included a £5 million mansion in Oxshott, Surrey, and a luxury Miami penthouse, which he purchased in 2008 and later sold for £2.4 million in 2016.
