Aryna Sabalenka Reveals What She Focuses on When Watching Tennis
World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka wasted no time securing her place in the 2025 Miami Open final. The Belarusian powerhouse, who has yet to drop a set in the tournament, cruised past defending champion Danielle Collins in the round of 16 before defeating Olympic gold medalist Qinwen Zheng in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, she dominated sixth seed Jasmine Paolini with a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory.
Sabalenka’s Post-Match Routine and TV Habits
After her semifinal win, Sabalenka opened up about her post-match routine. She admitted to spending her free time watching tennis on television, analyzing both men’s and women’s matches.
“I usually go for dinner, but other than that, tennis is always on my TV,” Sabalenka shared. “I don’t know why, but I’ve been enjoying watching it lately. It’s crazy—I must be getting old.”
When asked whether she analyzes the matches she watches, the two-time Australian Open champion explained her approach.
“When I watch men’s tennis, I try to see what they do differently—things I could incorporate into my own game,” she said. “With women’s matches, I focus on where players struggle and analyze their strategies. But mostly, I look at the mental side of the game. I like to see how players handle pressure, especially in men’s matches. I’m always curious about their decision-making in tough situations.”
