There is only one change in the world Top-10

Jannik Sinner still sits on the throne of men’s tennis, but the situation could change in the coming weeks. The Tennis Tour is practically at a standstill with all the athletes engaged in the Olympic Games in Paris. Consequently, there are few changes in the ranking, given the few tournaments played in recent days.

Sinner remains number 1 in the ATP world ranking. The Italian decided to skip the Olympic Games at the last minute due to tonsillitis but remains firmly at the top of the rankings, for yet another consecutive week. Jannik has an advantage of over a thousand points over both Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz and things will not change this week. They will change from the summer on the North American hard-courts swing until the end of the season, when Sinner will have many points to defend, unlike Carlitos Alcaraz, who will therefore be able to dethrone the young Italian.

A Top-10 that has seen only one change: Andrey Rublev’s overtaking of Casper Ruud. The Russian is the only one involved in the Top-10 in the ATP Tour. But the great protagonist of this period is Matteo Berrettini, winner of the second consecutive tournament: Kitzbuhel after Gstaad.

This victory allows the Italian to gain another ten positions in the ranking and become number 40 in the world. Lorenzo Musetti, with the final in Umag, gained one position, overtaking Holger Rune, and is now number 16 in the world. Also a good jump by Francisco Cerundolo who gains 11 positions and is now number 26 in the world. Great jump by Yoshihito Nishioka, who after a great tournament in Atlanta climbs many positions. Hugo Gaston gains 30 positions and is now number 61 in the world, very close to his Best Ranking. Ok also Mensik who returns to his Best Ranking, gaining 16 positions in the ranking. Best Ranking also for the nineteen-year-old Shang, now number 73 in the world.

In the women’s ranking, Top-10 unchanged, with the big jump in the ranking of the seventeen-year-old Mirra Andreeva, winner of the Iasi tournament: thanks to this victory, Mirra returns to number 23 in the world.
