Wayne Mardle has told Luke Littler he is doing his iconic “big fish” celebration all wrong.

The darts sensation often mimics reeling in a fish with an imaginary fishing rod after hitting a 170 checkout.

The highest checkout possible gets its name “big fish” due to the placement of the darts.

Two must hit the treble twenty and the last one must find the bullseye for it to be completed.

Littler, 19, has already hit multiple checkouts of the kind and fans love his passionate fishing celebration.

But Mardle believes that “The Nuke” has been doing it all wrong all this time.

He pointed out that Littler should be mimicking reeling the imaginary rod the other way after he pulled it out against Michael van Gerwen.

He said: “You reel it out. You need to reel it in.

“The fish is already out there, stop reeling it out pal.”

A video was then shown to the trio of Littler doing his celebration from the oche.

Mardle continued: “That’s reeling it out.”

As the crowd started to boo and Littler said “come on now”

Mardle conceded the point and said: “You can’t argue with kids.”

Mardle told Littler this after his stunning victory over Gerwyn Price in the Premier League Darts on Thursday night.

The Warrington thrower reached the final of the night after recording wins over Stephen Bunting and Van Gerwen.

But it seemed that he would not be picking up the bragging rights over the Welshman as he fell 5-0 down.

Littler survived FIVE MATCH DARTS before pulling off a miraculous comeback to win 6-5.
