Carlos Alcaraz Hints at Possible Coaching Changes in the Future
Carlos Alcaraz has suggested that his current coaching setup may not be permanent, despite his strong relationship with longtime coach Juan Carlos Ferrero.
The world No. 3 has maintained a tight-knit Spanish team throughout his career, but recent additions and his latest comments indicate that changes could be on the horizon.
Alcaraz’s Coaching Team So Far
🔹 Juan Carlos Ferrero – Head coach since Alcaraz’s junior days.
🔹 Samuel López – Hired as a secondary coach during the off-season.
🔹 Juanjo Moreno – Lead physiotherapist.
🔹 Fran Rubio – Newly appointed physio, rotating with Moreno.
Alcaraz recently hired Rubio, a close friend, as his new physiotherapist, further reinforcing his preference for a familiar, Spanish-speaking team.
However, in a post-match interview at the Rotterdam Open, the 21-year-old Spaniard acknowledged that his all-Spanish setup might not last forever.
🗣️ “The language makes communication easier, but honestly, it is not important. So far, it has been like this, but in the future, probably… we will see.”
For now, Alcaraz remains content with his team:
🗣️ “They are like a family to me. It is very important to have a good atmosphere off the court.”
Will Alcaraz and Ferrero Eventually Split?
💬 Fans often speculate about Ferrero’s long-term role in Alcaraz’s career.
🔹 The 44-year-old coach’s absence from certain tournaments always raises eyebrows.
🔹 Alcaraz has never publicly hinted at parting ways with Ferrero, but his recent comments suggest openness to future changes.
For now, the two-time Grand Slam champion remains focused on success with his trusted Spanish team. But as Alcaraz continues to evolve, could an international coaching influence be next?
