Carlos Alcaraz will have grand plans to improve upon his successful 2024 season, having won two Grand Slams.
Jack Draper says Alcaraz is ‘so good’ for tennis, with the Spaniard having won the French Open and Wimbledon earlier this summer.
He also won in Beijing and Indian Wells, but Alcaraz could only manage a third-place finish in the year-end rankings.
Alcaraz can improve his consistency in 2025, having fallen behind Alexander Zverev in the race to topple world number one Jannik Sinner.
But he can, of course, be very satisfied with his season, which also included a silver medal in his Olympics debut.
Alcaraz has, however, now taken concrete steps as he looks to improve, with Estadio Deportivo reporting that he has appointed Samuel Lopez as a coach.
Lopez, who has parted ways with Pablo Carreno Busta after nine years, will help Juan Carlos Ferrero with Alcaraz as the 2025 Australian Open nears.
Will Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner dominate 2025?
Alcaraz certainly knows Lopez well, with the pair having worked together at the likes of Queen’s and the Australian Open in recent times.
And that should both relax the 21-year-old and boost his confidence, which may have taken a knock after his form dipped at the very end of the season.

The four-time Grand Slam champion failed to make it out of his ATP Finals group, with his new rival Sinner going on to lift the trophy.
Alcaraz will now be aiming to get back to the number one spot in the rankings, which of course is not an easy task given the stunning form shown by Sinner.
Perhaps taking it one match at a time is the best approach for the Spaniard, who is in with a great chance of adding to his fantastic Grand Slam tally in 2025.
His ongoing rivalry with Sinner will likely be a key feature of the upcoming season, but another smart approach would be to try and block out the noise and focus on himself.
