Tennis star takes control of her career with new venture
Coco Gauff has officially parted ways with Team8, the management company co-founded by Roger Federer and his longtime agent Tony Godsick. Instead, the 21-year-old tennis sensation is launching her own management firm, Coco Gauff Enterprises, signaling a major step in her evolving career.
Announcing the move on social media, Gauff shared her excitement about the new chapter:
“This is just the beginning of an exciting new era for me, and there is much more to come, which I’ll be excited to share in due time. As always, tennis will continue to be my main priority!”
A Rising Star on and off the Court
Gauff, the 2023 US Open singles champion and 2024 French Open doubles winner, has quickly become one of the sport’s biggest names. Currently ranked No. 3 in WTA singles and No. 25 in doubles, she has reached as high as No. 2 in singles and No. 1 in doubles during her career.
Financially, she has also made her mark. With $23 million in career prize money and lucrative endorsement deals, Gauff was the highest-earning female athlete of 2024, raking in $30.4 million, according to Sportico.
A Strategic Business Move
As part of her transition, Gauff will now be represented by WME (William Morris Endeavor), an agency that has also managed tennis icons like Serena Williams. This move marks the end of her association with Team8, which played a key role in shaping her early career.
Reflecting on her journey, Gauff expressed her aspirations beyond tennis:
“From the moment I first picked up a tennis racket, I’ve always believed my purpose extended far beyond the court. I want to make an impact—not just in tennis, but in business, philanthropy, and beyond.”
From Teenage Sensation to Tennis Superstar
Gauff first burst onto the global tennis scene at just 15 years old, stunning fans at Wimbledon 2019 by becoming the youngest qualifier in history. She went on to defeat Venus Williams in the first round, reaching the fourth round in her Grand Slam debut.
Since then, she has continued to prove herself as one of the sport’s brightest stars.
With her latest decision to take full control of her career, Gauff is showing the same confidence and determination off the court as she does on it.
