“Happy Feet” admitted he dropped to one knee straight out of the shower, with absolutely nothing on, in one of the most bizarre proposal stories you’ll ever hear.
The World No51 explained that the engagement ring had been delivered to his home in a package by a postman, with his partner Jess the one who answered the door and unknowingly collected it.
Hood was then handed the parcel by his other half and, still dripping wet from the shower, decided there was no time like the present as he immediately popped the question.
But things quickly took an unexpected and slightly chaotic turn when Hood ended up CHUCKING the ring at his now wife after she didn’t cry the way he had hoped.
He told talkSPORT: “The ring got delivered and I just got out of the shower. I went in there naked and went and done it.
“She didn’t cry and then I started crying because she didn’t cry. It made me mad so then I just chucked the ring at her and walked out.
“I was like just marry yourself. True story. The ring arrives, Jess answered the door and had it.
“Obviously she didn’t know what it was. She gave the package to me and I had just got out of the shower completely starkers.
“I went in there, got down on one knee, everything. She was like ‘oh yeah’. I was like if you are going to be like that, marry yourself.
“No towel, completely naked. You can’t have towels. That’s boring, it’s hiding stuff. Everything I do in life is just going with the flow.
“Jess likes to plan everything, I just go with whatever happens.”
Hood enjoyed a remarkable run at the World Championship on debut earlier this year, where he reached the quarter-finals before eventually losing to Gary Anderson.
The Bristolian pocketed a jaw-dropping £100,000 for his Ally Pally run and is continuing his rise in the sport as he also pursues his long-term ambition of opening a Chinese restaurant.
