Darts stars including Luke Littler and Fallon Sherrock set for ‘rare sporting crossover’ at iconic event
Four of the sport’s biggest names will swap the Premier League stage for the home of Formula 1 this summer, in a historic first for Silverstone.
Two of Britain’s most beloved sports are set to collide this summer in a landmark event that nobody quite saw coming — but which, on reflection, feels entirely inevitable.
Silverstone is set to stage a rare sporting crossover on British Grand Prix weekend, running from July 2 to 5, as the theatre of elite darts meets the speed and spectacle of Formula 1 for the first time at the world-famous circuit.
On Sunday evening, Silverstone’s BOXPARK trackside fanpark becomes an arena in its own right for ‘A Night at the Darts’, in conjunction with DartsWorld and MODUS, with four of darts’ biggest names stepping up to the oche in the heart of the track: Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen and Fallon Sherrock.
It is the kind of event that makes you wonder why it hasn’t happened before.
The Line-Up
Littler arrives as the back-to-back defending world champion, owner of darts’ ‘Triple Crown’ and the youngest World No 1 in PDC Order of Merit rankings history. He faces competition from fierce rival Humphries, the 2024 world champion, alongside three-time world champion Van Gerwen and former Women’s World Matchplay champion Sherrock.
It is, by any measure, a line-up that would sell out any arena in the country. From the current Darts World Champion to previous champions, the line-up is unmatched.
It is also not the first time Littler and Silverstone have crossed paths. In 2024, during the previous British Grand Prix weekend, Lando Norris took the young darts superstar on a tour around the famous track, while Littler also met then-current world champion Max Verstappen in the Silverstone paddock, where he faced F1 drivers at darts. That visit was a taste of what was possible. This is the full course.
What the Stars Said
The announcement drew immediate and enthusiastic responses from the four players set to take part — each of them clearly relishing the unusual setting.
Humphries said: “Silverstone on British Grand Prix weekend is one of those iconic British sporting moments, and to bring darts into that same weekend is really special. It’s two huge parts of British sport coming together in one place, and I can’t wait to be part of it and put on a show for the fans.”
Van Gerwen, as ever, had his eyes fixed firmly on the competitive prize rather than the occasion surrounding it. “This is exactly the sort of night I live for — big crowd, big noise, big occasion,” the Dutchman said. “Put darts in the middle of a place like Silverstone, and you know it’s going to be loud, intense, and full of energy. We’re coming there to entertain, but make no mistake, once I’m on that stage, I want to win.”
Sherrock added: “I’m really excited for this one because Sunday night at Silverstone is going to be electric, and that’s when darts is at its best. I love getting the crowd going and feeding off that energy; it makes you want to produce your best stuff. To be part of something that mixes two huge sporting worlds in one weekend is brilliant, and I can’t wait to step up and perform.”
Silverstone’s Growing Ambitions
The announcement is very much in keeping with Silverstone’s vision of the British Grand Prix as something far bigger than just a motor race. The move comes as those behind the British Grand Prix continue to turn the weekend into an entertainment festival.
Silverstone’s Chief Commercial Officer Nick Read said: “We’re always looking for new ways to elevate the fan experience, and this announcement reflects exactly that ambition. The British Grand Prix is already one of the biggest weekends on the UK sporting calendar, and bringing a world-class darts spectacle to Silverstone adds a new level of drama and atmosphere. Fans can enjoy two major sports in one ticketed experience, creating a one-of-a-kind day on and off the circuit. It’s about delivering more excitement, more entertainment, and even greater value for everyone who joins us.”
Having attracted record crowds of 500,000 last summer, the home of British motorsport is set to go bigger and better once again, with a world-class entertainment line-up across sport, music and comedy, underlining Silverstone’s growing reputation as one of the UK’s premier live entertainment destinations. It follows the announcement that David Guetta will headline Silverstone’s Main Stage on Thursday night, with John Newman, Pendulum, Rudimental and MK performing at the T1 afterparty.
The combination of the race, the music, and now a world-class darts event makes July 5 one of the most stacked single days on the UK’s sporting and entertainment calendar.
When and How to Get Tickets
The darts spectacle will close out the British Grand Prix weekend on the night of Sunday July 5, pairing it with race day for a sporting double-header.
Early access at £20 per person is exclusive to BOXPARK ticket holders until March 26, 2026. All other British Grand Prix ticket holders can join the waitlist for a shot at darts tickets at full price from March 27, subject to availability.
Given the calibre of the players involved and the unique setting, demand for those tickets is only going to be one thing: enormous. For fans of darts who have watched Littler, Humphries, Van Gerwen and Sherrock light up arenas across the UK and Europe, the chance to see them perform against the backdrop of one of the world’s most famous race tracks will be difficult to resist.
Darts has spent years proving it belongs at the very top table of British sport. This summer at Silverstone, it gets to make that case in the most spectacular setting imaginable.
