Jordan Thompson has claimed the second set 6-3 against Alex de Minaur and we’re all square once again.
Thompson received a huge cheer after ending de Minaur’s six straight games at the start of the match and he hasn’t looked back since.
Thirty-year-old Thompson has never made a Grand Slam quarter final and whatever happens, we’ll have an Australian in the last eight.

Dads urged to check Father’s Day lotto gifts
Lottery officials are urging Aussie dads to check any lottery tickets they received for Father’s Day as a $2.5 million prize goes unclaimed.
“The winning ticket could potentially be an unchecked Father’s Day gift just waiting to deliver an incredible surprise,” the Lott said.

Alex De Minaur has stormed the first set in his all-Aussie Round of 16 clash at the US Open against Jordan Thompson. He took the set 6-0 and it’s his third bagel in a row after two 6-0 sets to end his third round tie against Dan Evans.
Fans online are in awe, suggesting de Minaur is simply “on another level”.
The world number 10 is looking to make his third consecutive Grand Slam quarter final in what is the strongest stretch of his career.
Thankfully for Thompson, he’s been able to stop the landslide and score his first game at the start of the second set.
Teen charged over plot to attack school
A teenager has been charged with terror offences over an alleged plot to attack a school in Brisbane’s north.
The teen was allegedly attempting to buy firearms online, according to the Courier Mail.
The Queensland Joint Counter-Terrorism Team has charged the boy with one count of acts done in preparation for, or planning, terrorist acts.
The 16-year-old boy fronted Brisbane Childrens Court on August 17.
The maximum penalty for the offence is life in prison, according to Today.
The Australian Federal Police confirmed there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
