Aryna Sabalenka recently revealed the true love of her life, and it’s not her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis. The World No. 1 playfully admitted that something else holds the top spot in her heart—over her boyfriend.

Sabalenka had a remarkable run at the 2025 Australian Open, where she was chasing her third consecutive title. Despite an impressive performance, she narrowly lost to Madison Keys in the final, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5. Throughout her Melbourne campaign, Sabalenka’s boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, was by her side, supporting her. However, he still hasn’t overtaken her ultimate passion.

Sabalenka explained that her love for tennis comes from her competitive spirit and the intensity she brings to the court. She acknowledged her “crazy” aggressiveness on the court but admitted it’s hard to maintain that mindset constantly. Outside of training, she focuses on simple joys to unwind.

“I’m so competitive. I mean, aggressive in some ways on the court. It’s quite crazy. You have to be 100% armed, which is really tough to handle throughout the whole day,” she said. “When I’m not training, I’m just trying to do things that bring me joy. Sometimes, it’s something as simple as going for a good coffee in a nice café. You just enjoy the place, sit there, scroll through Instagram, doing something completely mindless. Being off—it’s important.”

After her heartbreaking loss in the Australian Open final, Sabalenka took a well-deserved beach getaway with her boyfriend, Frangulis. She shared a glimpse of their peaceful retreat on social media, posting cute polaroids of their day collecting seashells.

“Ideal rest day 💞🏝️👙🍦,” Sabalenka captioned the post.

During the tournament, Sabalenka revealed the sentimental value behind her polaroid habit. She and Frangulis capture their favorite moments throughout the year and compile them into a collage to hang at home, preserving their cherished memories.
