Following her run to the Nottingham Open semifinals last week, Emma Raducanu has stated that she is beginning to ‘feel the fire again’.

On Saturday night, the 21-year-old faced fellow Brit Katie Boulter in a thrilling tie-break, 15-13, to take the opening set. The match was then stopped by rain, but Boulter recovered to win 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 on Sunday.

Boulter won the title she won in 2023 after defeating former world No. 1 Karolina Pliskova in the final, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, a few hours later.

Raducanu shared her thoughts about her Nottingham campaign on Monday morning on Instagram. She wrote: “I tried my best with what I had on the day. Despite the result, I enjoyed the battle and felt the fire again.”

Raducanu has not advanced past the second round of any Grand Slam since winning the US Open in 2021. Injury problems have impeded her progress considerably. Last year, Raducanu had surgery on her ankle and both wrists, which prevented her from competing in the US Open, Wimbledon, and Roland Garros.

She was absent from the French Open as well this year, but she is now excited to compete in Wimbledon the following month.
