Emma Raducanu Reveals Her Dream Coach—While Still Competing

Many former tennis stars transition into coaching after retiring, but Emma Raducanu already has a WTA player in mind—long before her potential mentor has stepped away from the sport.

The 2021 US Open champion endured an injury setback at the Korea Open last September, ultimately cutting her 2024 season short. Returning to action this year, Raducanu faced early exits in her Australian Open comeback before making it to the second round of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, where she fell to Karolina Muchova.

“I would want Ons Jabeur to coach me because I think she has an amazing energy,” Raducanu shared. “She’s a really caring and generous person—funny, but also has a great eye for the game. She’s incredibly tactical with the way she plays and has so many tools at her disposal. So maybe one day, Ons.”

Raducanu’s Coaching Carousel & Jabeur’s Influence

Raducanu has built a reputation for frequent coaching changes, having worked with several different mentors in her short career. Meanwhile, Ons Jabeur—widely regarded as one of the WTA’s most charismatic and well-liked players—achieved a career-high ranking of World No.2 in 2022, the same year she reached the Wimbledon and US Open finals.

Could Raducanu and Jabeur form a player-coach duo one day? Only time will tell.
