Emma Raducanu Unveils Chic New Hairstyle After French Open Exit
Emma Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, turned heads with a fresh, chic hairstyle upon returning to London after her second-round exit at the 2025 French Open. The 22-year-old British tennis star, known for her resilience both on and off the court, visited the renowned Hershesons salon in London, where she collaborated with celebrated stylist Nicola Noviello to debut her new look. Noviello shared the transformation on Instagram, praising Raducanu for embodying “beauty, grace, and power,” a sentiment that resonated with fans after her challenging clay-court campaign.
Raducanu’s French Open journey ended abruptly with a 6-1, 6-2 loss to defending champion Iga Swiatek on Court Philippe-Chatrier, marking her fifth straight defeat to the Polish star without winning a set. Despite a promising first-round victory over Wang Xinyu, Raducanu admitted to feeling “exposed” against Swiatek’s relentless pressure, noting the unfamiliarity of the main court and the world No. 5’s dominance on clay. Reflecting on the match, she said, “It was the first time playing on that court. It’s a big court, and it’s new for me. I felt a bit uncomfortable.”
The clay season was a mixed bag for Raducanu, who posted a 13-11 record across 11 events in 2025. Her best result came at the Miami Open, where she reached the quarter-finals, but early exits in Madrid, Strasbourg, and Roland Garros highlighted areas for improvement. Despite the setbacks, Raducanu remains optimistic, noting progress since her injury-plagued years, with her ranking climbing to No. 41. Her coach, Mark Petchey, dismissed claims of a lackluster work ethic, pointing out that heavier tennis balls and windy clay conditions pose challenges for Raducanu’s less powerful hitting style.
With the French Open behind her, Raducanu is shifting focus to the grass-court season, starting with the Queen’s Club Championships, followed by the German Open in Berlin, and culminating at Wimbledon (June 30–July 13). Her new hairstyle, a symbol of renewal, complements her determination to regroup and shine on home soil. Despite recent struggles, including a stalking incident in Dubai and a coaching transition, Raducanu’s vibrant new look and positive outlook signal her intent to redefine her narrative in the upcoming season.
