The Manchester City winger was a surprise omission from the Three Lions’ squad for the tournament and is making the most of the time off by enjoying the Italian sun. Posting on his Instagram story, Grealish showed himself playing football on a training pitch owned by Juventus with the caption: “8pm, 25 degrees, perfect.”
The pitch is part of the Juventus academy’s facilities, likely for one of their youngest academy teams. It is probable that Grealish got permission from the club to practice his football whilst on holiday in Italy, rather than him joining the Bianconeri.
Grealish only scored two goals and registered two assists in the Premier League last season. It was a particularly poor campaign for the £100m player and led to his dropping from the England squad. However, with England’s left-hand side looking particularly fallible so far this tournament, England fans may be wishing Grealish had still got the nod.
Grealish will return to Manchester City ahead of pre-season for his third campaign at the Premier League champions. The Englishman will be eager to put last term’s inconsistencies behind him and regain his spot on the City left-wing.
