What Fernandinho messaged Savinho after Man City defeated Manchester United

Savinho also seemed to form an instant connection with Matheus Nunes, as the pair combined with each other excellently on a few instances.

The former Atletico Mineiro winger was also involved in the build-up to Bernardo Silva’s equaliser, as it was his pass that found Oscar Bobb, who assisted the goal; capping off a lively cameo from him.

However, the São Mateus-born wideman was asked to show nerves of steel as he was picked to take a spot-kick during the subsequent penalty shootout.

But the highly-rated forward was seemingly cool as ice, as he calmly dispatched his spot-kick.

As Savinho took to Instagram to celebrate him winning the Community Shield as a Manchester City player after his side’s victory against Manchester United, Fernandinho commented: “First of many.”

Savinho looks very encouraging from the get-go

Having developed a habit of lifting silverware during his time at the Etihad Stadium, Fernandinho is aware of how many trophies Savinho could win as a part of Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Brazilian international certainly looked very encouraging against Manchester United as he seems to be top-quality dribbler, crosser of the ball and fearless in his approach.

At 20 years old, the expectation from Savinho should be that he will still be quite raw.

But the early signs at the Wembley Stadium will fill Manchester City supporters will plenty of excitement.
