Jasmine Paolini Honored in Hometown Celebration
A Day of Recognition in the Place She Calls Home
BAGNI DI LUCCA, ITALY – “Never stop dreaming. Follow your dreams.” These words were echoed by Jasmine Paolini, the 29-year-old tennis sensation, now ranked fourth in the world and an Olympic gold medalist. But on Tuesday, February 4, the town of Bagni di Lucca in Tuscany wasn’t celebrating just a champion—it was welcoming home one of its own.
A Day to Remember
Paolini returned to her hometown for a special Celebration Day, which included a stop at the Circolo dei Forestieri in Bagni di Lucca. The event, meticulously organized by the Municipality of Bagni di Lucca and the Tuscany Region, with contributions from Eurovast and BigMat, and coordinated by the Preview communication agency, was a heartfelt tribute to the athlete’s achievements. The highlight of the occasion was the recognition of her Olympic gold medal, won in doubles alongside Sara Errani at the Paris 2024 Games.
A Hero’s Welcome
Paolini was warmly received by Mayor Paolo Michelini and Tuscany Region President Eugenio Giani, who presented her with the Pegaso of Tuscany, the region’s highest honor.
The town further honored its tennis star with a special tribute in the main square, followed by a conversation with Paolini, moderated by Rai journalist Sara Meini.
Emotional Reflections
Overwhelmed by the love and support from her hometown, Paolini shared her heartfelt gratitude:
“This is an incredible emotion—I never expected such a warm welcome. Seeing so many familiar faces and feeling this affection has been truly special. It made me relive my journey—from school days to training at the Mirafiume Tennis Club, when I couldn’t wait to leave class to play. Thank you all!”
Amidst cheers, applause, and autograph signings, fans held up banners featuring Paolini’s beaming smile, a testament to the pride and admiration her hometown has for its tennis champion.
