Gary Anderson looks stunned as he is told ‘no score’ after embarrassing blunder against Luke Littler
Gary Anderson was left momentarily stunned after an embarrassing scoring mistake during his clash at the UK Open Darts Championship.
The two-time world champion, 55, believed he had produced a brilliant visit to leave himself a comfortable finish against teenage star Luke Littler.
But Anderson had actually gone bust.
The Scot looked visibly surprised when the caller announced “no score.”
A viral clip shows Anderson calmly retrieving his darts, lifting his glasses, and flashing a cheeky smirk once he realized the mistake.
Anderson had stepped up needing 168 — a total that cannot be finished in three darts with a double or bullseye.
With Littler still requiring 201, Anderson struck two treble 20s and appeared to aim for a single 16 with his final dart to leave his favourite double-16 finish for the next visit.
However, the dart landed in treble 16 instead, meaning he accidentally exceeded the required score and went bust.
The commentator joked: “It was a lovely-looking 168. Unfortunately, when you’ve got 168 left, that’s too many.”
The moment quickly amused fans watching the match, with many reacting on social media.
One user wrote: “He absolutely loved saying that ‘no score’.”
Another added: “Love Gary! Absolute legend!”
A third joked: “Hate when that happens to me…”
The mishap came during Anderson’s 10–5 defeat to Littler, as the teenage star continued his title defence in Minehead.
Littler, the reigning champion, had already survived an earlier scare before finding his rhythm against the veteran.
The youngster surged into a 4–1 lead and never truly looked back, despite Anderson briefly threatening a comeback.
Littler sealed victory in the 16th leg, pinning tops to finish the match with a 101 average and secure his place in the quarter-finals.
Elsewhere in the tournament, Danny Noppert delivered a composed performance to beat world No.2 Luke Humphries 10–6.
Meanwhile, three-time champion James Wade stunned Michael van Gerwen, averaging over 105 in a dominant 10–3 victory.
