Gian van Veen has been forced to withdraw from the Premier League Darts night in Dublin after being struck down with kidney stones.
The world No.3 had been building serious momentum in the competition, winning six matches and pushing hard up the table in recent weeks.
The Dutch star currently sits fourth in the standings, trailing Gerwyn Price, Luke Littler and table-topper Jonny Clayton.
However, he will miss Night Seven at the 3Arena after being diagnosed with the painful condition.
The Professional Darts Corporation confirmed Van Veen’s withdrawal from Thursday’s event with a short statement.
They said: “Gian van Veen has withdrawn from Thursday’s BetMGM Premier League in Dublin after being diagnosed with kidney stones.”
