“Ready to Go” – De Minaur Prepares for Bastide Medical UTS Nîmes

Two-time UTS champion Alex de Minaur is gearing up for the Bastide Medical UTS Nîmes this weekend. The Australian, who claimed the Grand Final title in London last year, is excited about the new format, which will feature quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final, as opposed to the usual round-robin group stage.

De Minaur emphasized the importance of being sharp from the outset, saying, “You’ve got to make sure you’re ready to go from the very first match. The new structure is much less forgiving.”

He added, “With longer points on clay, the matches will be more physical. While there may not be as many points in the quarters, there will definitely be longer rallies. It’s something I’m prepared for, and I’m excited to see how this event will feel compared to previous UTS tournaments.”

“A Great Atmosphere”

De Minaur is set to face “The Commander” Ugo Humbert in the quarter-finals. Humbert, playing on home soil, will have the crowd behind him. De Minaur acknowledged the French support, noting, “Whenever you play in France against a French player, they’re very supportive of their local players. It should be a great atmosphere, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
