Jack Grealish Open to Staying at Manchester City Amid Transfer Interest from Aston Villa and Tottenham
Despite growing interest from several top Premier League clubs, Jack Grealish may not leave Manchester City this summer, sources have told TBR Football.
The England international has made 30 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring three goals and registering five assists. However, Grealish has struggled to secure a consistent starting spot under Pep Guardiola, prompting speculation about his future at the Etihad Stadium.
Both Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly exploring a potential move for the 29-year-old, with Newcastle United also monitoring the situation. Still, there’s no guarantee that Grealish will depart, even after a frustrating 18 months with limited game time.
Grealish Happy in Manchester
According to TBR Football’s Chief Correspondent Graeme Bailey, Grealish is content in Manchester. His chances of staying could be boosted by major squad changes coming this summer.
Kevin De Bruyne has already confirmed he’ll be leaving the club at the end of the season. While James McAtee has been floated as a potential replacement, contract negotiations with the youngster have stalled. If no new deal is reached, McAtee will be sold.
Meanwhile, Bernardo Silva is also understood to be considering a move away from City. With multiple midfield departures on the cards, Grealish’s role in the squad could grow significantly.
Grealish’s Impact and Future Prospects
Since making a £100 million move from Aston Villa in 2021, Grealish has helped City win three Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2023. However, he has not matched the individual form he showed at Villa, scoring just 17 goals in 155 appearances for City.
Even so, clubs hoping to sign him face a financial hurdle. Grealish’s wages have steadily increased and are well beyond the current salary structures at both Villa and Spurs. Villa are currently assessing a move for Marcus Rashford, who also presents similar wage concerns.
Could a Move Abroad Be on the Cards?
TBR also understands that Grealish is open to the idea of playing abroad. While a move within the Premier League remains possible, a foreign transfer may become a more realistic option — particularly if City decide to cash in on a player who was a significant investment four years ago.
Whether he stays at City or seeks a fresh challenge, Grealish’s future remains one of the most intriguing storylines ahead of the summer transfer window.
