#4 Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils

Svitolina, the 28th seed, started strong with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Sorana Cirstea in the first round, followed by a dominant 6-1, 6-4 victory against Caroline Dolehide in the second round. She now faces a tough third-round match against fourth seed Jasmine Paolini.

Monfils, unseeded but coming off a title win in Auckland, has also shown great form. He opened his campaign with a five-set thriller, defeating 30th seed Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 7-6 (7), 6-3, 6-7 (6), 6-7 (5), 6-4. His second-round match was smoother, winning 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (3) against Daniel Altmaier. Next, he will face fourth-seeded Taylor Fritz in the third round.

#3 Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur

Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur, who announced their engagement in December 2024, are a beloved tennis couple. However, their Australian Open journeys have taken different paths.

Boulter, the 22nd seed, won a tough first-round match against Canada’s Rebecca Marino 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, but was unable to advance further, losing 6-7 (3), 6-2, 2-6 to Veronika Kudermetova in the second round.

De Minaur, the eighth seed and a local favorite, has been more successful. He started with a commanding 6-1, 7-5, 6-4 win over Botic Van de Zandschulp, followed by a 6-2, 6-4, 6-3 victory over American qualifier Tristan Boyer. De Minaur will face 31st seed Francisco Cerundolo in the third round.

#2 Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa, who have been dating since May 2023, are one of the sport’s most talked-about couples.

So far, only Badosa remains in the tournament. The 11th seed has cruised into the third round, defeating Wang Xinyu 6-3, 7-6 (5) and Talia Gibson 6-1, 6-0. She is set to play 17th seed Marta Kostyuk in the next round.

Tsitsipas, however, has struggled with form recently. The 11th seed and former Australian Open finalist suffered a shock first-round exit, losing 5-7, 3-6, 6-2, 4-6 to Alex Michelsen.

#1 Anna Kalinskaya and Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya, who confirmed their relationship in May 2024, have had opposite fortunes at this year’s Australian Open.

Kalinskaya had to withdraw before her first-round match against Kimberly Birrell, which will cost her significant ranking points, as she reached the quarterfinals in Melbourne last year.

Sinner, on the other hand, is the defending champion and top seed. He has successfully advanced to the third round, defeating Nicolas Jarry 7-6 (2), 7-6 (5), 6-1 in the first round and overcoming Tristan Schoolkate 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-3 in the second round.

As the tournament progresses, it will be exciting to see how these tennis couples continue to fare in Melbourne!
