It has been a challenging week for Jannik Sinner following the official confirmation of his three-month suspension from the professional tour. On the advice of his legal team, the world No. 1 opted to accept an agreement with WADA, thereby avoiding a hearing before the CAS in Lausanne, which had been scheduled for mid-April.

The Italian star sought to prevent the situation from dragging on further, as a prolonged legal process could have delayed the final verdict by several months. His suspension, which began on February 9, will conclude on May 4, allowing him to compete in the Rome Masters 1000—where FITP president Angelo Binaghi reportedly plans to welcome him as a hero—and, most importantly, the French Open.

News of the three-time Grand Slam champion’s suspension quickly spread worldwide, sparking largely negative reactions. Serbian legend Novak Djokovic, speaking at a press conference in Doha, revealed that many players believe the 23-year-old from Sesto Pusteria received preferential treatment throughout the proceedings.

New Developments on Sinner and Kalinskaya

After leaving Doha, Sinner spent a few days in Dubai to unwind, leading to speculation that he had traveled there to be with his girlfriend, Anna Kalinskaya, who was eliminated by Elina Svitolina in the Dubai WTA tournament.

However, reports suggest that the two never met in Dubai, with Sinner instead using the time to visit training facilities where he will continue preparing until April 13.

Additionally, rumors have surfaced that Sinner and Kalinskaya’s relationship has come to an end. Following her early exit in Dubai, Kalinskaya returned to Miami, fueling speculation that their romance has officially ended.

Meanwhile, Sinner took a brief break to go skiing in Sesto Pusteria, where he posed for photos with fans before shifting his focus back to training. Over the coming weeks, the Italian champion will primarily work on his physical conditioning as he gears up for his much-anticipated return to the court.
