World No. 1 Iga Swiatek has spoken candidly about the pressure of public expectations as she gears up for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix 2025 in Stuttgart.

Coming off several standout seasons, Swiatek admitted in a press conference that maintaining focus has been a challenge amid the constant scrutiny.

“Certainly, my goal is to focus on myself,” Swiatek told Puntodebreak.com. “It hasn’t been easy in recent months because after having such good seasons, I’ve been in the spotlight and judged for everything. Expectations are high. My aim now is to concentrate on what I want to improve on the court.”

The Polish star also praised her ongoing collaboration with coach Wim Fissette, saying they are working on technical refinements.

“We have a lot of ideas to improve my technique. Things have looked good in practice, and now I want to put it into play during matches,” she said. “People will always have something to say. Sometimes, you just have to block that out.”

As the WTA Tour transitions to clay, Swiatek emphasized the need for adaptation but expressed confidence in her preparation.

“We play on hard courts most of the year, so I need time to adjust to clay,” she explained. “But I believe I’m in the right place. With hard work and focus, I can start playing my best tennis again.”

Swiatek is set to face either Donna Vekic or Jana Fett in her opening match in Stuttgart, as she looks to reclaim dominance on her favorite surface.
