‘I’ll pay his wages’ – Luke Littler calls for Man Utd to bring back ‘unbelievable’ star
Teenage darts superstar Luke Littler has made an emotional plea for Manchester United to bring Marcus Rashford back to the club — insisting the forward still has plenty to offer.
The reigning world champion has never hidden his passion for football, and when asked which player he would most like to see return in red, he didn’t hesitate.
“Bring Marcus Rashford back, please. Thank you,” Littler said, making his feelings crystal clear.
A lifelong United supporter, Littler has followed Rashford’s career from the very beginning and still vividly remembers the striker’s explosive arrival on the biggest stage.
He recalled Rashford’s unforgettable Premier League debut against Arsenal under Louis van Gaal — a night when the young forward announced himself with a stunning brace.
Littler also reflected on how Rashford continued to grow after Jose Mourinho took charge, forming part of a formidable attacking setup alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney.
And for the darts prodigy, Rashford truly hit another level after inheriting the famous number 10 shirt.
“When he got the number ten, he was unbelievable that season up front with Anthony Martial,” Littler said, reminiscing about the forward’s best form.
That version of Rashford, he believes, is the one the club should be desperate to see again.
The England international is currently on loan at FC Barcelona, though his parent club are still contributing to his wages. The Spanish giants reportedly hold an option to make the move permanent in the summer — a deal that could bring a definitive end to his time at Old Trafford.
Reports suggest the club’s hierarchy are already planning for a future without him, with interim boss Michael Carrick not expected to reintegrate the forward into the squad regardless of how his spell in Spain unfolds.
But Littler is still holding out hope for a fairytale return.
In a humorous twist, he even joked that Rashford doesn’t follow him on social media — at least not yet — before making a playful offer.
“I don’t think he does,” Littler laughed. “But I’ll pay his wages for a week, sort VIP tickets, and then he can come back.”
Whether that dream becomes reality remains to be seen. But for Littler, Rashford remains a special talent — and one he believes United should welcome back without hesitation.
