Jack Grealish is loving the challenge of life under Pep Guardiola as he aims for more trophies at Manchester City.

Grealish moved to the Etihad in a £100m move in 2021 and has won three Premier League titles – including The Treble in 2023, where he was a key part of the team. However, he is looking to prove himself all over again at City after falling below expectations last season. Guardiola has been one of Grealish’s biggest champions in that time, but does not stand still as he chases more silverware.

“I think the way he sees football is different to everyone else,” said Grealish. “It is something you can’t buy, it is something that is worth years of experience and he sees football completely different to the way anyone does. It’s so unique and so good. He is a brilliant manager and a pleasure to play for.”

Grealish is expecting another difficult title race, with Sunday’s opponents Wolves showing the depth in the competition. Gary O’Neil’s side beat City at Molineux last season but are struggling at the bottom of the table now with no wins from their first seven games of this campaign.

City’s players are hungry to go again and England star Grealish believes there is more to come. Whatever uncertainty there is around the manager’s future with his contract up at the end of the season, his focus and his drive has not wavered.

“The manager feeds that into us,” said Grealish. “It also comes from us as players. When you win as much as we do, it is all you want to keep doing.

“That feeling of lifting trophies never goes away and winning stuff with each other. Personally, it is one of the best feelings in football when you win trophies with your teammates after a long and hard season. It is something that doesn’t go away and hopefully we can do it again this year.

“It is always going to be difficult. This season in the Premier League you look at all the teams and anyone can beat anyone. No matter if you are at home or away, every game that we have had this season has been tough.

“You look at the top at the moment, there’s obviously us, Arsenal and Liverpool up there, but I think there are great teams around. You only have to look at the likes of Chelsea who have been really good as well this season. We know it will be difficult, but hopefully we will be able to lift the trophy again come the end of the season.”
