Jack Grealish has shared his thoughts on what fuels the Premier League title race as Manchester City aim for glory once more.

The reigning champions, who have sensationally clinched the league crown four times in a row, are not only targeting a fifth successive title but also their second Champions League success in three years as they prepare to face Sparta Prague this Wednesday. Grealish remarked, “A large part of our success comes from the manager. He instills that relentless desire for victory within us.”

He continued, “It’s also about us as players. Winning becomes an addiction; the thrill of lifting trophies is something that never fades. Experiencing that joy alongside your teammates after a grueling season is unparalleled. We hope to replicate that feeling again this year.”

As the season approaches its climax, Grealish expressed confidence in his team’s ability to rise to the occasion. “We always believe in ourselves. Historically, as the season draws to a close, we tend to hit our stride, and that’s been evident every season since my arrival here,” he noted.

Grealish went on to praise Guardiola’s unique vision of football. “The way he views the game is unlike anyone else. It’s an invaluable perspective, honed by years of experience. He provides a unique approach that is truly exceptional. He is a fantastic manager and a joy to play for,” he stated.

While Grealish has expressed admiration for his manager, Guardiola has also praised the winger’s contributions. Since the beginning of the season, Grealish has played nine matches and provided two assists. Reflecting on the pre-season, Guardiola said, “What I observed during our tour was impressive. I don’t judge based on performance alone; it’s his commitment and effort that stand out. In our match against Barcelona, he showed aggression with five or six attempts on goal. That tenacity is key—his natural talent will shine through from there.”

Guardiola expressed his feel-good sentiments regarding Grealish, who is expecting to become a father soon. “All I ask is for players to enjoy their time on the pitch. I hope he can maintain his form until the end of the season and continue to compete for a spot in the starting XI, which ultimately depends on his performance in training, as effort correlates with opportunity,” he added.
