Jack Grealish Set for Summer Exit as Tottenham Move Gains Momentum

Jack Grealish is being strongly linked with a move away from Manchester City this summer, with Tottenham emerging as a likely destination. The 29-year-old winger has endured a difficult season at the Etihad Stadium, failing to score in the Premier League and struggling for consistent game time.

His form saw him left out of Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad, as competition for attacking spots remains fierce. Although early-season injuries played a role in his struggles, Grealish has been fit for most of 2025 but has only started three FA Cup matches since January.

Despite having two-and-a-half years left on his contract, speculation is mounting that City will look to offload him. Former Watford striker Troy Deeney believes a move to Spurs would be a logical next step for Grealish.

“I think it’s nailed on that he’s going to leave now,” Deeney told talkSPORT. “Pep Guardiola is one of the best coaches we’ve ever seen, but I don’t think he’s handled the Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne situation well this season. I think he’s left them in the cold.”

Deeney suggested that Spurs could provide Grealish with the regular playing time he needs. “He may have to lower his expectations in terms of wages and club status, but at Spurs, he’d play week in, week out. For Jack, it’s about staying fit and playing consistently.”

Tottenham’s Long-Standing Interest

Spurs previously attempted to sign Grealish in 2018 following Aston Villa’s failure to gain promotion. However, their £25 million bid was rejected, with Villa demanding £40 million.

Three years later, after Grealish had made his mark in the Premier League, City shattered the British transfer record by signing him for £100 million. While he has won six major trophies in Manchester, his performances have often failed to justify his hefty price tag, and he was left out of England’s Euro 2024 squad last summer.

As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on whether Grealish makes the move to North London for a fresh start.
