Jack Grealish Reacts After Providing Crucial Assist in Man City’s FA Cup Comeback
Jack Grealish took to social media after helping Manchester City secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Leyton Orient in the FA Cup.
Pep Guardiola’s side narrowly avoided an upset after falling behind early to a stunning long-range goal from Tottenham loanee Jamie Donley. However, City responded through Abdukodir Khusanov, before Grealish set up Kevin De Bruyne for the decisive winner.
The England international has faced criticism from City fans this season for his inconsistent performances, but his vital assist ensured his side progressed to the next round.
Grealish Shares Message After FA Cup Victory
Following the match, Grealish applauded both Leyton Orient and City’s traveling supporters in an Instagram post, writing:
“Through to the next round. Well done to Leyton Orient, they were brilliant, and thank you to our away support, was incredible.”
He also sent a message to City teammate Rico Lewis after the match, remaining active on social media—particularly after City’s victories.
Uncertain Future: Will City Move On from Grealish?
Despite playing a key role in City’s FA Cup win, Grealish’s long-term future remains uncertain. Reports suggest that Man City could be open to offers for the 28-year-old at the end of the season due to his underwhelming form.
He has made just six Premier League starts this season, appearing 23 times across all competitions. His output remains modest, with only two goals and five assists, further fueling speculation that City may consider cutting their losses.
Last year, Grealish failed to score a single Premier League goal in 2024, and with emerging talents stepping up, a move away from the Etihad could offer him a much-needed fresh start.
